Lancaster, Pa -- The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners, Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation and LancasterHorse.com, LLC, will host the 5th Annual Dutch Knob Fall Pace on Saturday, October 3rd, from 8 a.m. until 12 noon, in Lancaster County Central Park’s Exhibit Farm area off Golf Road, Lancaster. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, October 4th. Over 200 equestrian enthusiasts are expected to travel over the 5-mile pace course that continues throughout the entire park. For this one day, many park trails that are not normally available to equestrians, including the scenic river loop, will be included in the course.[img]http://www.lancasterhorse.com/dk09/comm_dk09_websm.jpg[/img] Start times for participants will be from 8 until Noon. Divisions include Fast and Optimum times on the course. Raffle drawings begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Halloween costume contest at 12:30 noon. Entry fees are $30 per rider for an all-event Knob Pass. Entry to the grounds will be free to the public.
Chandra Mast of LancasterHorse.com reports, “Susquehanna Equestrians Club have partnered with us to add an interactive element called the ‘Pirates in the Park.’ Challenges will be scattered onto the course for pace participants to get involved in and earn Pirate points." Mast added, "We are very excited to be working again with the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation in hosting our 5th Fall Pace.”
The 2009 Dutch Knob Fall Pace Committee encourages all Paint Horse Association members to participate in this fun-filled event.
