She stopped short of selling her daughter.

Hopefully, these people can become contributing members of society. I have neighbors who are former alcoholics, in recovery and getting disability, for the past 20+ years.

I think after a few years, either you've recovered or not. If not, go and get treated. Don't rob the system, so you can just sit back and get your monthly check that WE work so hard to fund.

A addict never recovers in the sense you are thinking they will be alcoholics the rest of their lives. Maybe they drank to the point they have whats called a wet brain and cant put one task together with another to hold a job. It could be a number of reasons they get the check but they do have to go every two years or so i believe to get re examined by a doctor that SS picks . If they say they cant work thats all SS requires.

Way to go to the Rase Project. Hopefully we can see a list of dates for the fundraisers you have in the newspaper so that the community can help. These are articles I like to see in the newspaper.

I agree. There are so many people out there suffering with addictions, and limited options for recovery plans. I'm glad every time I hear about a group reaching out to help.

The folks at the RASE Project are working hard to address a very difficult, society-encompassing issue. They deserve the support of our community. Keep up the great work.
