Now that they have extracted all the money they can from the country, it's time to leave for another country - just like criminals.

Criminals huh, which criminal do you work for or are you employed by a poor person?

You just don't, and most likely never will, get it.

Maybe they're just tired of all the B.S. like the US (Obama) giving 2 BILLION dollars to an oil company in Brazil (one that George Soros has a huge stake in) for off shore drilling.

I've heard inklings of Mennonites in the county looking at land purchases in Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. Most of the population of Paraguay is already Mennonite do to massive migration from Russia after they lost their religious freedom in the early part of the last century.

It is not because of seeking out tax havens but more because there is more freedom there and more opportunity in farming and other businesses. The world's borders are falling everywhere. America as an empire's days are numbered. The progressive post modern world outside of america sees nationhood and citizenship connected with patriotism as arrogant and proud on par with racism.

I kind of chuckle when i hear people's fears of one world government. One world government is already here. It is already in the minds of every progressive in every tongue, race, and creed. Kids today especially do not recognize borders, it is already in their mind that the world is one. I see it in my 5 year old and i'm hoping he does not unlearn it.

We lost our empire status when theses rich ceos decided they could become even richer by shipping our industrial base over seas.

Name a great empire that is strictly a service economy.

darn rich people, especially those who worked their butt off on their way up from being poor.

too bad we can't have leaders who had to run a business and meet a payroll. that's how you learn to budget.

Did you ever work for a Fortune 100? I did.

Wealth is once again concentrated in the top 1% at levels not seen since the 1920's.

Wall Street wants to give one guy $100 million for making the price of gasoline go up for everyone? Nice.

We really do not reward hard work.

Be nice if that was the case. Now it's junior went to college, barely got a MBA, and now he thinks he knows how to run the entire company. He's the expert because he got a piece of paper.

If someone had to work their way up the ranks, maybe, just maybe, they'd have a little pride in the company and want to see it succeed. Not jump from golden parachute to golden parachute.

I work for a major company, so I see it happen. We have local managers who never threw a switch or moved a car in revenue service telling us how the "rulebook" says to do it. And it ain't jealousy, as most of us ground guys are paid more and work fewer hours than the bosses, since we are covered under Federal Rail labor laws and they aren't. We also have real good bosses, too... but many of them did come from the ground. Hmmmm.

But you got others ripped off as well. Nice christian touch. Are ye humble about being so arrogant? laugh.gif

The Bush family has property in Paraguay too. Of course the vultures are going to leave, but not until they pick the last scrap off the carcass that was the United States.
The one world government is here in the form of multi-national corporations and the fools don't realize it.
We might stand a chance if when they go they take Obama and congress with them.

Seriously, if you have a degree but no connections the only work visas being given out are for English language teachers. If you have a language degree by all means emigrate because life is going to get real sh*tty real quick here if things don't change. This cracks me up. Does anyone really expect Peggy Steinman, with her coal, radio, newspaper, and horse racing interests to move overseas and give up her U.S. citizenship?

What about S. Dale High, who controls a massive amount of local real estate?

What about Robert Field, who besides owning Manor House apartments has major investments worldwide, including a large presence in Eastern Europe? Would someone who finances their own news Web site abandon their home country?

There will ALWAYS be a wealthy few who believe that they are above the law. They are no more like most well-off Americans than Rush Limbaugh is.

Ask yourself, why are these people leaving and not investing in our country?

It’s simple, the taxation is oppressive and the regulation is oppressive. The return on their investments are shrinking because the government is stealing more & more of their property (money is property) in the form of taxes.

I know of doctors who will retire early and leave the country to avoid the taxes and the cost of malpractice insurance they have to pay long after they are retired.

If you eliminate these disincentives for these people they will stay here to invest their time & money. They could be creating more jobs and they will spread their money by providing opportunities to the rest of us.

Your “eat the rich” mentality is just a form of cannibalism. You are cutting off your income to spite someone else’s wealth. If you destroy the wealthy you destroy the country. Isn’t that envy / covetousness?

Is that the goal?

Multi-national corporations aren't the problem, it's multi national people living here. So many illegals, having the same rights I fought to preserve. The Vietnamese people who came here after 1972 were documented. They don't live on welfare, ther got educated and for the mose part, became contributing members of society. That's a lot more than you can say for most of those who come here from south of our borders. Not just Mexico, SOUTH.

He started his empire with one simple machine, making about 400 pieces per hour. After he saw a profit, he invested in better equipment. He has always paid his people well, based on their skills & abilities. If you were one of the people who had basically no skills and refused to learn any, you were and always will be on the bottom rung. His local management started as grease monkeys and went through the ranks to get where they are. I know 4 of them personally. None of them just stepped into their current position. Dart helped a lot of people, junt like the Highs. I know the guy who loaned the Highs $250, to start their first business. If they're rich, it's because they put their money into their future, not beer.

Start with yourself. If the company you work for doesn't have a good pension, and you're guaranteed lifetime employment, you're lucky. If not, I hope you're putting a good amount into a 401K. It's easy to do and it's easy to maintain.2 years ago, I made 22%. Last year, with safer investing, I only made 4 1/2%, while those who didn't pay attention were losing as much as 50% of their monies. This year, so far, I've only made about 12%. Pay attention to what's going on around you.

Rich people leaving the country is a good thing, IMO. It tells me that the attitudes and tax loopholes that allowed them to become rich beyond reason are changing. The coming disclosures on those who evaded paying taxes by way of offshore banks will change the world they live in. Their loyalty is obviously toward the mighty buck, not the USA or their employees. To me, they are like rats running down the mooring lines. Hopefully they will be replaced by people who don't feel entitled to take everything without giving something in return.

Clanker,

Put down the Kool-aid. Now back away slowly. We would not want you to hurt yourself here.

When the rich leave, they take their money. Who will be left to fund businesses and pay for jobs?

Congress has made the loop holes for their friends. Both parties have played this game for years. Charlie Rangel writes the tax laws and still can’t follow the law; we have tax cheat Geitner is in charge of the IRS. The Ds are full of hypocrisy (not that the Rs are far behind).

Correct the laws & fix the tax code. There is NO JUSTIFICATION for the tax rate on any person to go beyond 10%. That is immoral. Then eliminate ALL loop holes. Our tax code could be printed out on 2 sheets of paper and the accountants can find something else to do.

Your comment that we live by the mighty dollar, we are ALL guilty. Hunger motivates us to work so we can sustain ourselves. Greed motivates us to work harder so that we can accumulate wealth. Wealth is the fruit of YOUR labor and can help provide you and your family with security. Greed does have its place in our society and it does uphold virtue.

Thanks for shouting. My hearing isn't what it used to be. Your attitude is sooooo 90's. Is 'Wall Street' your favorite movie? Anyway, the attitude among the very rich is that if you pay anything, anything at all in taxes, then you're a chump and you need to get better bean counters. There are exceptions, of course. There are genuine philoanthropists who don't hide their money and pay some taxes. However, there are also some who give to select charities for the sake of avoiding paying taxes to a government that might otherwise use some of that money to fund things that might not be in their best interests, like school lunch programs.
Greed, at the expense of the middle class (me) doesn't strike me as being a good thing. I just want to make enough to get by in reasonable comfort and not have to worry about a minor catastrophy causing me to loose everything. The greedy are like parasites who inject us with a little anasthesia so we don't notice that they are bleeding us dry. That used to be fine, but along with Reganomics, came a whole new level of greed where the parasites didn't care if they killed the host. Now we have an econocially anemic America that can no longer generate enough lifeblood to return us to our former glory even if big reforms are put in place. The truly greedy don't want to stick around and help us recover some because it's not in their nature to help anybody but themselves. Good riddance.

When did government become a charity?

When did keeping what you work for become a crime?

When did paying taxes ever become patriotic? Certainly not because Joe Biden says so.

Who gets to determine what a comfortable living style is?

I’m sure if you have ever lived in a 3rd world county (& I have) you would see the “average person” living in a 1 room mud brick house with a thatch or corrugated tin roof, feeling lucky they have that. Are you that comfortable? Are YOU hording YOUR RICHES when these people are in such dire need?

We've long been a charity. Giving to third world countries in a combined spirit of care and politcal leverage is standard.

I don't mind paying a fair share of taxes because I'm aware of all the services that are being provided to me by the government.

A large portion of our taxes go toward paying for our military. I think it's a bit too much, but Americans seem to want a strong military with the latest expensive gadgets. Is it not patriotic to want our interests and way of life protected? Personally, I'm happy to see some of my taxes going toward maintaining national parks. Is that not patriotic?

A comfortable lifestyle is one that allows you to keep a roof over your head while staying up with required safety codes, having enough money for nutricious foods, having affordable heath insurance, maintaining a car, and having some left over to go on the occasional vacation. Anything extra helps the economy, but isn't totally necessary.

I've seen conditions in third world countries. There's little I can do because the cause isn't lack of money, it's lack of sustainability due to overpopulation, poor resources, or having a government that is corrupt or can't provide safety nets. We have safety nets here, but there are still many people who fall through and poverty is a pervasive problem here at home. You may feel sorry for those who have little in other countries, but you have a shabby attitude if you would deny our own poor if it means our government using your tax dollars.

No they won't.

The top 1% are paying less % in taxes than they have in decades while their income has skyrocketed.

They are not investing here because they want the big profits that come from exploiting cheap labor and lax regulations. Gone is the desire to build things here and the resulting pride for Made in the USA. If they can, they hide their gains in off-shore accounts or other creative mechanisms to avoid all taxes.

Unlike the Founders, their focus is self-centered; their higher purpose is personal achievement and attainment; their vision is making the world better for themselves.

This will cause our downfall. In 10 years we will become a former superpower like Russia and watch as China becomes #1.

I would disagree. Government is NOT a charity nor should it be used as one. That is not an enumerated power granted to the federal government by the US Constitution. If I am wrong please point out were in the Constitution.

Our “taxes” is the money we earn (our property) and is removed from our discretion with the threat of force. That is either blackmail or outright theft.

With help of people with your mind set we will soon be joining the ranks of those 3rd world countries because of the government bloat and entitlement society amongst us. Our government IS corrupt and can no longer pay for the “safety net” entitlements any longer.

You are welcome to see the numbers for yourself: http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Your portion of the national debt is over $38,000.00. Additionally, your portion of our “unfunded liabilities” is over $190,000.00.

We are going to become financial slaves if we do not resolve this issue first and foremost. The people we have sent to DC have created this issue and they are ALL making it worse.

We need to return to our Constitution, stop using it as toilet paper, keep our laws within the frame work set forth in that document and pay what we owe. Yes it will be painful but we cannot do it without rich people here to provide and pay for the work. We need their help to fix this.
