A friend of ours who can only access the net here at the library recently joined TB but says he can't post anything. So I'm here checki9ng it out.

OK, obviously the library's computer system isn't the issue.

It posted fine. Maybe it would help if you went to the library with him and walked him through a few posts. A new forum can be confusing. I'll be looking forward to his 1st post.

I was super confused when I first joined... I couldn't post anywhere but I *think* in the opinion section for my first 5 posts. Newbies can't just post in any forum, I don't think. That might be the problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some barrier to newbs here at TalkBack. It's really tough sticking your toe in the water the first time, and when weird stuff happens, it's a huge turn off, and they ain't coming back.

Apparently newbies are allowed to post in the 'news' section. Whenever there is a news article and someone comments negatively about the person in the news, the newbies all come to their defense. It happens over and over and over....

He might to activate his account from the e-mail address he gave when joining.

Have a look in the members section and see if his handle is there.
