Full Version: Tasty Chili For Cold Weather Meals

1 - 2 pound lean ground beef (or turkey)
29oz can whole tomato
29oz can diced tomato w/garlic
1 cup mild salsa
1 medium onion
1 green pepper
chili powder to taste
salt, pepper
2 cans dark red kidney beans
shredded cheddar cheese

Brown beef/turkey and drain fat. Add tomatoes, onion and green pepper, chili powder, salt and pepper.

Simmer 45 minutes adding the kidney beans 15 minutes after the simmer starts.
Serve and top with cheddar cheese.

We just use the McCormack's Mild Chili mix. Instead of the tomatoe sauce, we use a can of diced tomatoes with chili peppers and saute onions with the browning ground beef. I usually try to add more beans, cause I like the beans.

Mmm...there can never be "too much cheese" IMO. Sounds good Kate!
