I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this place yet, but we recently dined at the Union Barrel Works in Reamstown. Now, let me preface this with some explanation....The brewpub was recommended to us by a co-worker of my husband who knew that we weren't going out much because we usually have to take the kids due to a lack of babysitting support. The person explained that the Union Barrel Works was nice, had good food (I can now attest to this), and was noisy enough that kids wouldn't be looked down upon. Oh, it's also smoke-free and casual attire is welcomed.

The staff was professional and courteous, the food was very good, and we liked both beers we'd sampled (lager and kolsh). We had the vodka penne with shrimp and the Coquilles St. Jacques with a generous salad and the crab bisque, which was soup of the day. The kids' meals are very reasonably priced ($3.50-$4.50), which means a lot to parents who aren't always sure their kids will eat what is ordered (they sure did in this case!). We were too full to try any of the desserts, but we do plan to go back again...hopefully soon! tongue.gif Next time, we might try sandwiches since the burgers and the chicken sandwiches also look delish.

So, this is the kind of place I'm hoping will be successful so it sticks around. Try it, folks, and let me know if you like it as much as we did. smile.gif
