APPLE CRISP
4 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
Topping:
3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
Mix together apples, water, cinnamon and salt. Place in 8x8 inch baking pan.
Mix together topping until crumbly (can use hands but I use a fork).
Spread topping over apples.
Bake, uncovered, at 400F degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
Serve warm.
Note: You can substitute sliced and peeled peaches for the apples, but I've never done so.
