Full Version: Lol Down Most Of The Day On 11/11/2006

All parts of Lancaster Online were inaccessable for most of the day on Saturday November 11, 2006 through the Internet.

Just purely out of curiosity: was this a planned upgrade, or was there some kind of unanticipated failure? I do know there were some serious issues with TalkBack over the previous two weeks.

I know the LOL staff is doing everything they can, and I really appreciate their efforts. I'm just wondering what happened.

It was an unplanned outage. DNS was the main problem, but we also have had some database corruption problems. The DNS is now fixed and I'm fixing the database corruption as it come up now.

In a little bit I'm going to be migrating all the databases to a new server so there might be a little downtime associated with that as well.

Problems with eEditions are not related but are also known and being worked on.
