New to LancasterOnline

We are now offering a LancasterOnline RSS reader that comes preloaded with all of our RSS Feeds including an RSS feed of recent TalkBack topics as well as current weather conditions and a 5 day forecast. It is compatible with all versions of Windows.

This is a simple way to get into RSS feeds without having to load all of our many feeds manually. You are also able to add outside feeds as well.

RSS is a method of having "stuff" from the web delivered to you rather than you going out and getting it yourself. Lancaster Online has RSS feeds that will give you headline and summaries from all of our news sections.

If you're still not sure just give it a try. It is a fairly small download and it's easily uninstalled if you find you don't like it.

I will warn you though, it might change the way you use the internet!

SharpReader is a good RSS reader as well, though it saps a lot of your computer's resources if you subscribe to a lot of feeds. Lately, I've been using Mozilla Thunderbird for RSS -- its reader is not as full-featured as #R, but it hasn't crashed my machine yet, either, and having RSS right in my email client means one fewer application to have open.. I did have to hunt for a while for a T-bird mod that would allow me to import an OPML file from #R.

This service is nice for broadband or DSL users. However, for dial-up it's not a good thing.

I signed off AOL 10 minutes ago and this service automatically re-dials AOL which in turn ties up my telephone line.

I'll be disconnecting this service. I like the older style anyway.

Thanks I think.
I just figured out how to program my VCR.
Only now getting the hang of 'Pong'.
Know how to do only one thing with my microwave.
When the time changes I get sweaty figuring out all the clocks.
I have an Atomic clock but it's set for the wrong time zone.
Still hanging on to my typewriter-- secretly hope to use it again someday.
Computer screwed up half the time... Now THIS. More technology!

Anyone ever think of having a class or something to figure all this stuff out? We could all come in disguise so no one would know who we are! I'll be the one quivering in the corner of the room.
