Attention Lititz tax payers and parents, how about that wonderful security system that our 6 schools put in? I bet that cost us a pretty penny. Too bad one of our elementry refuse to use it. The doors are to automaticlly lock behind us once entering the building right, to prevent any unwanted harm to come to our children? What good is this so called security system when our spoiled teachers are propping the doors open with wooden wedges? Why would our teachers do this, you ask? Well maybe its because they are too lazy to park in the teachers parking lot (that was put in just for them by our tax money) and walk a few extra feet to go to where the card swipe is. Instead, they park in the visiters parking or in the maintainance parking and prop open these doors. It makes me sick to my stomach to think what would happen if someone with bad intentions would get into this school. Wake up people, this school is not safe thanks to the wonderful principal who ok'd it.

JB, have you gone to the principal or the school board about this?

It has been brought up many times but when only one person is making the argument it tends to be pushed aside. The 20+ teachers have a stronger say in the matter then one parent/employee. Im hoping by posting this that other JBparents will read it and help me in getting a swift resolution.

I wonder why other parents haven't spoken up. Do they not understand what has been going on? Do they think their children are fine and don't need that added level of security?

What I dont understand is how can the teachers put the children in harms way. Its not that hard of a task to park where they are suppost too, walk to the door with the card swipe, swipe the ID card though and then enter the building. Instead they feel the need to park in the closest parking spot closest to the school so that they dont have as far to walk and have this door propped open rather then walking to a door with a swipe so they can get in faster. Parents wonder why there is never any spots open in the visitor parking (all the teachers parking there). All it takes is one psyco to walk in........man, I dont even wanna go there.
