Well, OK, they reported it. But they don't jump up and down shouting about it. You can find this story buried on the next to last page next to the ad for arthritis pills.

The Harris Poll. Sept. 17-21, 2008. N=1,015 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3.

"How would you rate the job Democrats in Congress are doing: excellent, pretty good, only fair, or poor?"
9/17-21/08

Excellent/Pretty Good (Positive rating)
21%

Only Fair/Poor (Negative rating)
75%

You have to take the ratings of a group of people with a grain of salt. Clearly people disapprove of Congress and Washington in general, but they keep re-electing their own representatives. One of the reasons is that they tend to like their own Congressman individually.

The same thing happens with other professions.

It is not really news. It has been at that level for some time. In fact, the approval numbers are actually down for Democrats because Democrats are unhappy with the lack of progress on health care reform.

BTW, Republican Congressional approval is lower than Democrats.
