Forgive me if I sound like I'm bashing the horse you bet on. I'm not. Not this time anyway. I'll leave that to every thread that's totally unrelated to Obama, beit crime, stupid /crazy people, poverty, schooling, taxes - local taxes that he's got no say in, and the like, but not a thread that directly references Obama

Ever since Hillary conceded defeat, I've seen the greatest crop of tasteless garbage with Obama's mug on it in all my life. Trading cards, bumper stickers, wristbands, lighters, bobble heads, special edition magazines.
The market must still bear fruit for these products, the only people buying this crap I can best describe as suckers. They won't be collectable, at least not in the whole, there will be some stuff that might be, such as a campaign button. But it's gotta be an official one, not some chinese knockoff after the fact. Trading cards are often collectible, but 99% are worth less than what someone paid for them when they were new. Bobble heads? Those are funny, to me anyway, but I ain't gonna buy one. If you don't see how it's funny, you're probably the ideal purchaser. Special edition magazines. These are still rolling out, it's not news any more. We elected a black guy, big deal! History was made 12 months ago, it's no longer history to restate it, even if you said it was significant history then. Lighters? Come on, that's just weird. Wristbands are for what? Concealing your support for this jackass? Oh, wait sorry I'd call it a pun, but that might be considered Obama bashing. I'll retire to the news forum and bash him in a thread about an elderly woman's retirement from the Post Office.

Chia has always been ridiculed as being crass and tasteless. Thanks for the commercial though.

I think satire is one thing, esp. if it's done well, like the skit on SNL. IMO, this is crass. Since Hillary can't grow a 'fro, I doubt there will be many Hillary Chia Pets, if you get my meaning. But there certainly will be a market for it.

I'm not the ideal purchaser, and I don't think it's funny. I think it's tasteless.

I'll go for humor at the expense of an elected official, but at least be smart about it.

True. About the only chia-pet I've ever seen that I thought was "cute" was the sheep, and I still wouldn't buy them. Waste of money.

Please tell me this is the first time I went on a rant about politics and you took me seriously?
I don't deny the fact I dislike the guy, but like you, I also dislike the pile of Chinese made garbage foisted upon the purchasing public at every venue as well.
why?
here are eleven other obama items that are possibly even worse- (chia obama is on this list).

My sense of humor may be impaired today. I'm not at my best health wise. I may need to reread your post.

Hey, the ability to grow a 'fro didn't stop Chia from making Chia Tweety, Taz, Bart and Homer Simpson, Scooby, Shaggy, Garfield, and Shrek--although I guess Obama is the only real person Chia there is. Walgreens pulled it months ago, but CVS now has it. Evidently you can choose from two Obama expressions--happy or determined.

Personally, I think any Chia product is tacky.

Well, I'll agree with you on that point.

It is tasteless, as is Obama participating in a commercial for a late-night comedian. Why would a president do that?

IDK, and I don't like that either. Be the POTUS, please.

I don't exactly agree with this cartoon, but it made me laugh. I do see the point, somewhat.
