Once again, the generators magically appear in Lancaster County! WTF? They're not traveling in MD?

Thank God they're not coming anywhere near roads that I have to deal with. That's going to be the biggest traffic headache anyone ever saw.

Watching the news last night, I was trying to figure out if people really didn't have anything better to do than drive several hours to watch these generators come off the ship.

Oh, but they got a t-shirt too. It's a historic event.

They didn't magically appear the first time, they were built here.
How do you think they're getting to Pennsylvania?

My hope would have been to bring them up the river and have the barge sink!

They were built in France, shipped by boat to Port Deposit.

From Port up 222 to Rt 1 at Conowingo follow 1 to Nottingham PA where they pick up 272. That's my guess.

This has the potential to really mess up bussing for the Donegal SD- if they shut down enough of 441, the buses (and teachers that travel between buildings like me) are going to have a hard time getting to the Middle school/ RV complex. Nothing has been mentioned about that!

It would be a bit tough, getting a barge up and over the dams.

I think the whole thing is pretty neat. I plan on trying to go snap some video and pics, as long as I can work it around my schedule. (IMG:http://talkback.lancasteronline.com/style_emoticons/default/lol_specool.gif)
As far as the traffic thing goes, the route and estimated schedule have been well posted. Should my travels need to take me in those areas, I know most other routes that will get me far from the convoy AND THEIR suggested detours!
Oh, and going to watch this would certainly be better than watching a dog abuser play with a pigskin all afternoon.

did areva (the company in charge of the move) take into consideration that some of the businesses along the designated route employ people that depend on their wages to make ends meet and that closing roads for an indefinite time ( noone seems to have the answers) could actually push people over the edge, people that were barely getting by in this economy? i know someone is making money off of this big move but it certainly isnt me , my coworkers or our families...maybe discovery channel should do a story on that?

Oh for crying out loud! Does anyone have a violin? If a closed road is going to push someone over the edge, then that person better seek professional help immediately! They are a danger to themselves and others. There are lots of other roads in this county tio use. Go spend the $15 and buy an ADC map, already! Or start picking a road at random and drive it. See where it ends up. People are truly clueless anymore.

PS. Ever stop to think that TMI employs a lot of people? Or that this move is taking the efforts of lots of people? I know.. so terrible our lives are so fragile that we cannot take a detour for a day.

Now that`s an idea! I`ve heard stories about really really huge catfish in the river, that would have enough muscles to heave them things up over the dams!
BUT,...I don`t think it`s plausible to think the fishes would work together to git er done! (IMG:http://talkback.lancasteronline.com/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
