With the unemployment rate so high, why can't the local nursing homes find enough staff to take care of their residents?
My mother is paying top dollar and most of the time the place is short-staffed.
You would think people would want a job.
Even those with jobs aren't showing up in these nursing homes.
Although some training may be required, perhaps the problem is people don't want to do personal care.
Workers are supposed to work every other weekend, but they call in sick.

I'm a mortgage broker by trade but the economy is forcing me to supplement my income-even with a part time job. I can't even get a job at Burger King right now-the market just isn't there. I have had a ton of offers off of monster and career builder but they are all sales related and management positions. I don't want to dedicate every waking hour to another job. I was just looking for something part time. Go figure! I don't have any experience in the nursing field and I don't think I could handle that kind of job. The burnout rate has to be through the roof!

My son realizes how lucky he is that he got a P/T job at McDonalds. He put in approximately 18 applications in before he got a phone call from them. Sign-up with www.snagajob.com. You can have them E-Mail you jobs that you are interested in. Alot of the jobs that I saw there were never in the newspaper. Good luck!
