Chip. A great story! Tom is a very good man, he stepped up when asked for help by the down and out workers of Kronos. I know he is being black balled by hotel managers, but just let me tell you this, anyone who wants their hotel run right and has nothing to hide should jump at the chance to hire Tom. Now he is being sued by Kronos the same people who could not pay their electric, cable or venders. maybe they need the money to pay the thousands they owe lol. I hope their big lawyers get paid! Now I hope someone steps up and helps him. Thank You Chip you are a great reporter!!! (IMG:http://talkback.lancasteronline.com/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Chip
Awesome Story we need more reporters like you that care about us workers. We can only hope with all the NEWS about Kronos that they get what they deserve. What a shame more so called REPORTERS didn't find this story newsworthy. We will forever appreciate all you have done for us. Chip you are a HERO of a reporter to us all and we THANK YOU (IMG:http://talkback.lancasteronline.com/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

Blackballing of competent caring manager, reluctance to remove franchise, bailout by possibly affiliated financing company, lack of transparency, refusal to communicate with reporter....Obviously competence, profitabality, quality and responsiblity DON'T really matter in today's corporate business model...What does this tell us about what really does matter? and the nature of our false premises and understandings of the current 'capitalist' system we think we live in?

Thank you for another insightful view into the ruin of an established business by apparently inept owners. I am very familar with another property that they are in the process of destroying. In a short 9 months they have brought a 40 year old business to its knees and are now kicking it to see if there is any loose change they might have missed. It has been educating to watch and pathetic to discover how little our governments care about the 'unpaid'. That's 'unpaid' vendors, employees, and TAXES. While individuals are agressively prosecuted for bouncing checks, it's ok for a business to hand out paychecks that will bounce and do bounce. And our State lacks the reasoning to deduce that if you give out a hotel sales tax license, then you should be getting sales tax returns and payments. And that a hotel has to have employees to run it and so you should also be getting payroll tax payments and unemployment compensation payments. But a special "Thank You" to bringing to attention the work that Tom has done and at great personal cost to himself. He has brought the employees together from all the involved properties into a collective family. He has dilligently worked at trying to help them get paid for their labor. He has provided employees with a space where they can express their frustrations, anxiety, and anger and recieve support from each other. Where they can obtain news of what's going on at the other properties. Tom should be commended, not sued, for what he has done.

No, I only get lucky in what I find. And as I keep saying, time is a very dangerous thing in the wrong hands (allegedly) ...being unemployed, I have nothing but time.

How about applying to Lancaster Newspapers? You sniff 'em out, Chip writes about 'em ... Or WGAL -- oops, that's another thread ... |

The story does not say if it was a brown egg or white egg... I wonder if the egg was a fat free one.

Nice going Chip, Good to hear your opinion on the matter however I can tell you that IHG is FOS they certaintly knew what was going on as I was there for one of their spot inspections. The inspector told the GM at the time they would help them through the renovations. this May/June.
IHG=$$$$$$$ and they don't care how they get it. Tom as Don Quixote priceless. |

I have to agree with Inkit....I know firsthand that they were aware of "how bad" it had gotten there as I had brought it to their attention on more than one occasion. And first clue should have been...GREEN SHAMPOO in inspectors accomodations for the night!!! Hello shampoo is supposed to be clear. I feel as though had the franchise stepped up sooner there may have been some hope at saving this property. But I guess out of sight out of mind serves the pockets better. Hmm too bad no money going in those pockets now with them having no flag.
And I still wanna be Alica dang it!!!LOL |
