Some people have a widow's peak, I have a widow's canyon.

The trouble with this country is that there are too many people going about saying, ''The trouble with this country is...''

Hmm, no comments, I'm surprised. Perhaps the overall concentration of hybrid owners in this area are drastically lower to elsewhere?

I don't think the concentration is that much lower, but I do think I agree with the writer. I have driven with people in their hybrids and watched how they liked to look at the display and see what great mileage they were getting. I also have been behind those people...

I think he was onto something with removing the meter from hybrids and installing them in everything else.
I feel I too exploit the vehicle's advantages, what ever they may be, my car is made for "twisties", not only do I enjoy taking the car on those types of roads, I've moved the car even further in that direction, installing what most people would consider harsh springs and shocks, the grippiest tires I can afford when it needs them, stiffening the chassis. The downside is when changing the oil: it's a pain to get a jack under it, if I forget to remove the oil pan before lowering the car, I have to jack it back up again to get the oil pan out and some crappy roads will vibrate your fillings out.
The bike, it's a perfect all around street motorcycle, I drive it all around. (9,000+ miles this year alone).
The dual purpose bike, I can't wait to take that off road again, was tempted to do it last night.
I've never owned a hybrid, but the closest was a CRX HF. No MPG meter. For a whopping 58 hp, that car was blazing fast, because it was so light (1,700lbs, IIRC). I still tell people how it got a miserly 44 mpg for an '87, while driving the ever lovin' crap out of it. I really do miss that car.
I've only ever followed one hybrid that I can recall, it was down Prince St., I think, so he didn't have enough time to irritate me.
