Like the title. Same as the title of a popular Virginia political blog. Is that where you got your inspiration?
Kaine has been in statewide office longer than 2 1/2 years. Prior to being Governor, he was Lt. Governor for 4 years. He isn't exactly green to the political landscape either. He's been in politics a long, long time. He was on Richmond City Council and he was Richmond mayor and then moved on to Lt. Gov. His father-in-law is a former, very popular governor and our first lady is a former juvenille court judge. He is a good match for Obama and would be good for the country, but nobody outside of Virginia knows him - maybe that's good, maybe not. I think he's a good pick, but I shudder to think what would happen to Virginia if he is chosen. We'd be stuck with a Republican Gov for a year until the next election and the Virginia Republican party has gone rather whacko lately (ask Rep. Tom Davis and check out how Jim Gilmore almost didn't get the nomination to run for John Warner's seat). By whacko, I mean they have pretty much abandoned the moderates of the party and have run to the far, far, far, far right. This is exactly why Obama has a big chance to take Virginia. But, maybe we can survive 'til the next election for Gov. Virginia surely wants to do it's part to get this country back on track.
