Local Restaurants

A few weeks ago I went to my favorite restaurant Meritage. Called to get reservations for this week and it turns out they closed. Anyone know where they went? They used to be in town then moved out to Groff's Farm.
That must be one tough business.
Any ideas on a new favorite restaurant?
God Bless America, please.

You've got expensive taste buds. Try Carr's or The Pressroom. That might satisfy your cravings for expensive restaurants.

If you want to demonstrate your support for Lancaster Newspapers, or for the hotel and convention center project, either restaurant would be an excellent choice.

Meritage is in Mt. Joy. Still excellent!

I called this weekend and there's a message on the machine that they're no longer in business.
God Bless America, please.

They haven't been out at Groffs farm that long have they? Maybe alittle more than a year? I never really cared for the resturant, and when they said they were moving out of the city, i figured it wouldn't be long till they were done. Groffs farm isn't exactly an easy place to get to. Just surprised two very upscale resturants closed within a week of each other.

Gibraltar is my "go to" place when I want a good meal. Although, I stopped into Fenz a few months ago, and thought the food there looked very good as well. I'm going to give them a try in the near future. Its right down the street from Gibraltar. http://www.fenzrestaurant.com/

We've always had good food and service at Gibraltar and Carr's. Let us know how it was when you try Fenz. My husband has clients who loved to go to The Log Cabin, so it looks like we'll need a replacement...

Too bad, I still have a gift card from Christmas.
FENZ? I did not realize it was a restaurant. Maybe the sign on Hburg Pike could use a little more info about what they do there.

Will do. If anyone is going to the Delaware beaches let me know (Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, etc.). I just returned from there and have a great recommendation. One of the best meals I've had in a long time.

Two drawbacks however--no reservations and no bar (so there is no place to wait), but if you call an hour or so before you want to eat they will put you on a list (if there is one) and call you when your table is available.

Yeah, we had just stopped in for a drink at the bar, and really liked the look of the food that was coming out of the kitchen. They have some really nice outdoor seating on the second floor that has a nice view out towards the ballpark.
