| Sen. McCain is fit for the future By ART MORRIS, Sunday's Guest 2008-06-29 00:03:00 Sunday News Two weeks ago, Gil Smart's column in this paper was devoted to making a case against John McCain based on McCain's statement that he relies on his wife for his personal technology needs. Mr. Smart parlays that comment into his concluding paragraph: "How can a candidate ill at-ease with the current era lead us safely into the future?" |

While I respect Ron Paul's position on the Constitution and his desire for change I do not see him being elected to POTUS.
With all due respect to supporters of Ron Paul, a vote for him will be a vote for Obama - a very liberal Democrat.
So to InterestRP08, I would encourage you to "be open minded" with regard to Senator McCain when deciding who to support in November.

The above is a commentary regarding Art Morris' article. While age is an important deciding factor for many voters, it should not be the only deciding factor.
With age comes wisdom, knowledge and experience. All of which Senator McCain has.
At age 46, Barack Obama has not experienced what McCain has. McCain's experiences will enrich his presidency. Hopefully he will select a younger VP candidate to offset the age factor that concerns many.

You obviously don't look at the raw facts about John McCain. If you would ever look at the facts, you would see that McCain is not fit at all to be president.

The swiftboat vets told the truth about John Kerry. His service record is suspect and his purple hearts are a joke by all accounts. Comparing Kerry with McCain is like comparing Obama to Kennedy....a real jackass move by some.

I've been highly open minded in this election, and highly open minded in consideration of McCain.
Of course I support Ron Paul, but after speaking with him on the phone last weekend (no lie people) and him explaining that he didn't want people to vote for him in the primary, I won't be voting for Ron Paul. I won't be voting for Socialist McCain, either. When I originally found Ron Paul, it was out of sheer frustration after going to cnn.com and fox.com and seeing who the heck was running for president. I researched EVERY SINGLE candidate. I know stuff about EVERY SINGLE ONE that I, myself, researched. Originally, Ron Paul wasn't even listed on those sites.
Around September, I saw a bumper sticker that said 'Ron Paul President 2008' and thought, holy crap I never heard of him before. I looked him up, it was over.
Needless to say, my research of McCain pours in negative results. Has anyone actually researched that guy? He will not, definitely not, receive my vote. As if my vote counts anyway. That guy is NOT worth a vote. And don't even argue with me as if you've researched him. He's JUST as bad as Obama. Really, he is. I'm going with a third party candidate, and it isn't Bob Barr.
And YouTube is your FACT DRIVEN SOURCE of information? Oh, PLEASE ...
No of course I wasn't screaming bloody murder, that guy had a bad war record too. The problem with your attitude is you believe all the crap these politicians tell you, as if their word was better than YouTube. And yeah, YouTube is plenty a source of fact driven information. As if Faux News is? What are you, the most freaking gullible person on the face of this planet? Wake Up!!!

My point was not to equate Kerry/swift boats with McCain. My point was the hypocrisy of the left to now be sponsoring and touting this anti-McCain vets group after screaming "FOUL" and CONTINUING to scream "foul" about Kerry. It was HORRIBLE for poor John Kerry, but let's BELIEVE the crap about McCain.

If you view YouTube as fact driven information, I am afraid the most gullible person on the face of the planet belongs solely to you, and I would never think of challenging you for the honor.
And why do you always knee-jerk with Fox News as if anyone who disagrees with you must be a kool-aid drinker?

Youtube has plenty of actual facts uploaded. Sort through it, you'll prove me right.
When did I ever bring up Fox News before? I'd like to see the post.

With all due respect to supporters of Ron Paul, a vote for him will be a vote for Obama - a very liberal Democrat.
With all due respect, a vote for RP will be a vote of conscience. A vote for McCain or Obama will be for one in the same. Different routes, but their destination is the same in the end.
Why are there no good conservatives (not neo-conservative, war-mongering, flip-flopping, industry sellouts, who rape the Constitution) running?
Because of EXACTLY this line of thinking. People would rather vote for someone just to keep the other guy out, not to support a candidate who truly holds their values (not saying necessarily RP is representative of your values), regardless of who it is.
It starts at the lowest offices in the land, and continues up the ladder, until we are jam packed with these wingnuts. Garbage in, garbage out.
If you all want good conservative candidates, not just someone with an "R" after their name (which means nothing) open up your copy of the Constitution, and READ! Learn what powers government has, and what freedoms you have and support a candidate that obeys the laws of the lands.
