| Burning down your own house By GIL SMART, Smart Remarks 2008-04-06 00:01:00 Sunday News Well, that didn't take long. Last week I wrote that if Hillary Clinton is going to use right-wing tactics in her primary battle with Barack Obama, I might just vote for John McCain instead. |

But Hillary Clinton isn't running on behalf of the party, or she wouldn't attack as harshly as she loses the primary. This is slash and burn politics. She has tried everything--present policy, show her software softer side (I'm working way too much), awkwardly try to make a joke on 4/1, attack Obama's credibility, attack his church, say he'd be a fine vice president but an incompetent president. She'll say anything.
Politics is war by other means. This is the Art of War, Clinton style.
Obama, though (I support Obama), is missing the boat in PA on the issues. He's not talking about bread and butter issues enough, not talking about economy in any specific way, and needs to. They get it, but they are staying rather ambiguous. High gas prices? Talk about the importance of local production, local delivery, and local purchasing. Local vacations, local food, local economy.
Slash & burn won't win the primary. But it will help McCain win in the Fall.

Sorry, McCain is NOT going to win in the fall, against either of his opponents IMO

... and the Old Media/RNC attacks on the Clintons gleefully repeated by the Obamatons?
Gee the RNC is so dumb that they smack themselves up along side their heads with a "why didn't we think of that" every time the Clinton campaign points out Senator Obama's flaws?
