My daughter came home from school yesterday very upset. She said that there are some kids at school that make a show of waving their confederate flags and making racist comments to the black students. Yesterday, she said that these kids were driving around the parking lot waving the flag and throwing garbage at some black students. They were making comments like, "Bow down to me like your ancestors did." I was horrified and plan on calling the school today to complain. My daughter said several teachers witnessed the events yet did nothing to stop it.

Wouldn't throwing garbage and yelling racial epitaphs at the the black students be considered harassment and assault? Why weren't the cops called? I think calling the school is a good idea, but this kind of behavior needs to be reported to the police as well.

Interesting, I thought Warwick had a police taskforce on site.

These punks should be taken out behind the shed and have the "daylights" kicked out of them.

Spoke to the office this morning and I was told they are aware of the incident and it is being addressed as we speak. Guess I'll have to wait and see what the outcome is.

I wouldn't expect much.

My middle daughter was "beat down" a few years back and the school refused to identify to us (her parents) who this individual was because of "privacy issues". Talk about hot under the collar. I'll tell ya, our society is fully engulfed with a nasty cancer eating away at it.

Is there someone at the newspaper that could look into this story? That might pressure the school into doing the right thing, instead of sweeping it under the carpet so to speak.

I'd write a reporter and see if they can do anything about it.





We better not let subsonix or any of the other racists on here see this. They'll just say they deserved what they got. That whole thing is dispicable.

Most of them have emails attached to their stories, or if u go to the contact tab on the right menu bar it brings up editors for the various sections.

This is how the Jena 6 mess got started. I hope the school realizes that punishing the offenders is not the end of this problem. a broader base of support exists in the student body for this kind of behavior to erupt. Instead of circling the wagons like the district lawyers suggest, they need to make sure every student hears about this incident and it becomes a starting point for dialog on the issue. Discussion is what will defuse this situation. Punishment alone only adds to the tension.
