Making A Position Statement

Today in the obituary column there is a picture accompanying an infant death. The infant died soon after birth. I did not understand the picture immediately, however, it must be a picture in-utero, of the infant. I have been there and understand how it feels when your child dies before it even has a chance to begin.
I guess I am torn about the picture. It seems a powerful statement of grief to me... but I really do not see anything there that resembles the infant that must have been born to the grief-stricken parents. It is not my business but I do wonder how others feel about it.

WW, it's hard to know how to feel without seeing the picture. Are you sure it wasn't a photo taken immediately after birth? It's not an uncommon practice today. How sad for the family.

It may be a bit strange. However, if doing so helps the family cope with what is a horrible loss, then I really don't see any harm in it.

Tootsie. Thanks...I clicked on the picture and then it was obvious. How touching and sad. It is very grounding, actually [no pun intended].

Look closer...it is the baby's footprints that they take in the hospital.
I believe i saw the same thing a few weeks ago. Very sad, but it seems like a nice tribute. My thoughts go out to the family.
