Actors' names and biographies aren't featured in the show's program. And no matter how the audience clamors, there will be no curtain calls. Evans said the theater leaves little room for self-congratulation at any level.
"This is not about egos. This is not about us," she said. "God has given us a story to tell, and that's what our mission is about."
Kudos to them..........
"You're a witness. You're always standing around watching what's happening, scribbling in your book what other people do. You have to get in the middle of it. You have to take sides. Make a contribution to the fight. Any fight. The one you believe in."

While Sight & Sound is a ministry, it is not a non-profit organization. The proceeds from the shows are designed to cover the production costs of the shows and the operation of the organization, as well as to facilitate the production of upcoming shows. Sight & Sound operates without charitable support.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with wealth, in fact the bible endorses wealth. poverty is a sin .
there's nothing wrong with getting rich off of the bible it just struck me a humorous when they said they were doing the lords work, as if they weren't raking in millions.LOL

you say lets be honest, but you accuse a non-profit of making "big bucks." it would seem that if you know some inside information, you should report it to the IRS,not post it on lancasteronline talkback.

They're opening another big building, supposed to be identical to this one, in Branson. They're gonna alternate shows back and forth. I think I heard they were opening with Noah out there. It's kind of nice that something started here in Lancaster county is spreading across the country.
One thing I have to say about the shows they do is that they do practice creativity in many parts. Their renditions don't always follow the actual bible story but they try to keep the general idea going.
Those helicopters in Daniel were a little much. (the vision/dream about the future had helicopters in it). Also, the fourth person in the fiery pit was Christ in their rendition and that's not exactly the story, in the story it was an angel. But anyway, they call it a "fictional account of a factual event" which also may or may not be so, they certainly believe it to be factual, so we'll just go with that.
It really is a nice theatre and the quality of the performances is excellent. They train all the animals and build all the sets in house, in fact, everything in the performance is created by the staff of the company. That, in itself, is pretty commendable, not to mention the quality which could rival any show on broadway.
Basically, I don't agree completely with their interpretation at all times, but I do appreciate an excellent show.

that is why i was confused. i'm not against them making a profit, but with the mis-information above, i thought someone was accusing a non-profit business of breaking the law.

You certainly set a high standard. I can see why others rarely measure up.
Wasn't Mother Theresa just a PR hound worried about her legacy? Surely she had an ulterior motive?

Okay, let's state for the record again that I'm not a Christian, so I have no vested interest here. I certainly wouldn't want to go to Sight and Sound at this point in my life...
But I've got to say in the many years my family and I have known Glenn & Shirley Eshelman (the owners) they've shown themselves to be wonderful, down-to-earth people who truly believe they are doing god's work and throw all their energy into their family and their business. Through all my interactions with them they've always been the type of Christians I respect because they walk the walk and are kind to others even with whom they disagree.
I should note that I don't agree with the more "hellfire and brimstone" direction I hear some of the shows are going, but I certainly don't agree that they're greedy or that they run Sight & Sound for the money (and remember, there were many years before they "made it big").

do you remember the reason that they threatened to pull out of strasburg a few years ago when they were rebuilding?
i hope that they
there is no reason that every human being should not be expressing themselves and the life of god to their fullest.the only reason the do not is because limitation is drummed into their heads from a very early age, whether from a religious perspective or a race perspective or even a socila perspective.
give a child a fish and he will eat today.
teach a child to fish and he will eat every day.
teach a child that he is not good enough to fish unless he accepts a certain dogma or because he is the wrong color and he is going to want someone elses fish because he doesn't believe that he will catch any himself.
