Could someone with a chemistry background read about the relationship between phosphate and glyphosate and reassure me there is no connection between Roundup etc., and the death of bay grasses?

I am not trained in chemistry, but my little bit of reading says both are competitors for the same position in plant growth. And glyphosate is NOT rendered inert upon soil contact as often stated. A couple mentions of using Roundup to erradicate invasive marsh grasses.

Maybe the introduction of Roundup ready bay grasses is in order?

Time to put those "Save The Bay" bumper stickers next to the Obama stickers on the Volvo.

"Skip the spring fertilizer and plant trees."

Love this quote from the article. If everyone would stop those four step chemical applications on their lawns, it would help immensely. People don't realize that all those chemicals you put on your lawns don't stay in your lawn. They leach through the soil to our water supply and we drink it and bathe with it. Some of it leaches to streams and lakes and bays and kills fish.

A tree in front of every house would greatly decrease pollution in the air and the soil.

Now back to hugging my tree. (IMG:http://talkback.lancasteronline.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
