Ephrata police have arrested five alleged thieves.
Ricardo Valdespino Jr., 33, of Ephrata, and Jason R. Wanner, 32, of Bowmansville, were charged with multiple counts of felony retail theft and theft by deception in connection with thefts Oct. 16-18 at the Kmart store in Ephrata,  police said.

Anyone know anything about all the police activity on Conestoga View road (between Brownstown and Akron) last night around 730pm?? Like 20 cop cars, three ambulances, etc...?

We were discussing the air conditioner theft at work ... somebody said it's worth money at the recycling place in Ephrata where they pay money for aluminum, compressors, etc. There are only dumb criminals left in Ephrata ... the smarter ones moved to the city.

I am always amazed at the huge drug problem in Ephrata. The rehab places and counsellors are making a lot of money, especially with the repeat business.

Al is $0.30/lb steel is practially worthless. One you disassemble the A/C unit, it's not very valuable at all for scrap. I honestly don't think any scrap yard would pay for a complete unit.
