You know, it is Christmas every day for our government when elderly people die of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, diabetes and Parkinson's. What a savings for Social Security!

Who REALLY knows, what cures have been found? There may be a cure for cancer. There may be a cure for diabetes. We will never know, as long as the pharmaceutical companies can rape us.
A bottle of 100 Celebrex (celecoxib) costs how much? Around $300. The active ingredient to make those 100 capsuels costs 60¢ TOTAL. Why would they want to announce a cure for something that will continue to make them richer? If someone slips a $10 bill into your car every day, are you going to report it, and maybe have it stop? I don't think so. As long as the pharmaceutical companies have the power, they will continue to use it.
The Christian Fanatics don't block the developement of new medications, they don't believe in abortion and they turn to prayer first, hoping for a "Miracle Cure". Quite often, they don't turn to the wisdom of the doctors soon enough.

Abortion, which has saved many lives and futures, is again forbidden by the religious right.

I've got a better solution (this comment obviously isn't meant apply to situations involving rape or incest): Try using birth control effectively in the first place. If you're paranoid about getting pregnant, feel free to use more than one form of birth control...get both parties involved in the efforts to prevent pregnancy. Maybe then we won't have to debate about whether or not the fertilized egg/zygote/embryo is actually life because that will always be a heated debate.

For the record, the Catholic church is only against embryonic stem cell research. I can't speak to what any other organized religion's position may be, but I can say the Church is not against adult stem cell research.
